i was worried you would find out soon
from someone else, before i left this street
im still rotting, starting in my spine
not a soul here, she left in my sleep
found

that much further south

never been south of here
i think ill track the stars
made their way in warmer language
fleeing from their plans
maybe ill go
where the big wheels turn their spokes
baptize myself in the john day, alone
i came too unglued
i wanted you
i wanted you in my bed
at the same time that i dreamt
i remember the glass of your hand made my bones ache
fallout, idealized
fall down harder
fallout idealized
ill grow taller

walking away from the circus lights
its far too loud and far too bright
in a field little bluestem under my feet
no longer trampled where the noise recedes
patches of gray under carnival moon
im unveiled by the stars but theyre not too bright
dimly lit stomach twists and contorts
bursts into pieces of dysphoric hurt
where they fall in my bed
where they crowd around to see
balled up heart, yellowed spine,
dried out pages, cracked, but they're mine

you've worn me down

its like that one dandelion hands song.

...little bluestem

|

across us is a field
filled with little bluestem
weeds grow when theres no one to tell them that they should not grow
im glad no one was there
now we'll foster our share
i wanted some time with you
but your face like the moon reflected
onto the dark of the sound elected
to fall in line
